Fikisha Cumbo is born and raised in Houston,Texas
She meet Bob Marley and Peter Tosh in the summer/fall of 1975
during the time she was doing an academic study of Musicians of the African Diaspora.

Fikisha was lucky enought to watch the wailers in Central Park


She started to like reggae with the Natty Dread album

Among her various accomplishments:

photography exhibits in both New York and Los Angeles
album cover photos, including one for Tosh, she also was the very first journalist to write an article on Peter Tosh for a big magazine
music writer for international magazines
produces and hosts an arts and culture television show and she still finds time to write.

Presently living in New York City, she hosts and produces an art and culture television show
writes books and enjoys the culture and vitality of the city.

Fikisha had the honor of befriending both
Bob Marley and Peter Tosh in 1975.

The book is heavy on the Peter Tosh side but she had a very special relationship with him.
fikisha reprints many of her fantastic interviews and talk a lot about
'so JAH seh' being her favorite Bob Marley song's, 'Let Jah Be Praised' her favorite Peter Tosh song.

She also adds a story about going to 56 Hope Road during a rehersal
Bob Marley seeing her and starts playing 'so JAH seh'.
