"Like It Is" was born amidst the nation's racial turmoil of the 1960s.

The first host was Robert Hooks.
Reporter Gil Noble was drafted from Channel 7 News to serve as co-host of this new program.
Within a year, Mr. Hooks, left "Like It Is" to star in the TV series "NYPD"
and in leaving, recommended that Gil become host,
